Stree 2 Box Office collection has trumped that of Jawaan by grossing highest net worth globally in just 34 days of its release.
Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has collected Rs 586 crore in the Indian cinemas and from music rights. The film has reportedly collected Rs 798 crore worldwide which makes it highest grossing Hindi movie till now.
The movie surpasses the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawaan’s collection of 582.31 crore in the domestic market. The announcement was made by the Maddock Films.
The poster of the Maddock Films on Instagram handle wrote, “Woh Stree hai aur usne aakhir kar dikhaya… Hindustan ki sab se sarvashresth No. 1 Hindi film of all time! Yeh itihaas humare saath rachane ke liye sab fans ko bahut bahut dhanyavaad. (Stree proved it. The film has become India’s highest-grossing Hindi film of all time! We thank all fans for creating this history with us).”
Interestingly Stree 2 is a horror comedy movie which released in cinemas on August 15. It was believed that the movie will do good due to a strong story line and best performance by Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. However it was not expected that Stree 2 will become a major hit on Box Office and will corss Jawaan. Even on its 34th day of the release, Stree 2 earned Rs 2.5 crore in cinemas.
This is much more than the weak and poor performer – The Buckingham Murders – in which Kareena Kapoor Khan is the main lead. The movie fell flat on ground due to poor acting skills of Kareena.
